About the Urban Indigenous Research Lodge

The Urban Indigenous Research Lodge at Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre is an Indigenous-led space dedicated to advancing community-based research that reflects the voices, knowledge, and lived experiences of urban Indigenous peoples.

Guided by principles of respect, cultural safety, and reciprocity, the Research Lodge supports partnerships, learning, and knowledge sharing that strengthen Indigenous health, wellness, and self-determination in Winnipeg’s urban Indigenous community.

Research & Reports

Research helps identify barriers to healthcare access, improve health outcomes, guide public education, and strengthen connections to housing, primary care, and cultural supports.

By combining lived experience, Indigenous knowledge, and healthcare research, we can continue evolving to provide compassionate, dignified, and community-driven care that supports the wellbeing of all relatives.
